چکیده

Low-pressure cold spraying has gained much significance for its good economy in recent years. However, compared with high-pressure spraying, the unsatisfactory performance of coatings prepared by this method is a key problem restricting further development. To improve properties coating without incorporating severe conditions, paper proposed an original shot-peening-assisted low-pressure cold-spraying (i.e., SP-LPCS). By proceeding and shot peening alternately, SP-LPCS was proved to enhance mechanical property effectively. Mixed particles Zn, Al, Al2O3 were adopted as powder. Effects shot-peening pressure, flow rate, size on micromorphology microhardness variance studied. Results shows that thickness plastic deformation layer stabilizes impact time increases 6. The microscopic simulation according different metal characteristics powder, brittle grains fracture while go through refinement. Meanwhile, porosity decreases greatly after impacts, resulting higher denseness coating. Several factors mutually contribute improvement material increased SP-LPCS, obvious strengthening belts observed, highest being 90.93Hv.

Computer Simulation of Ammonia Cold Shot Converter

A mathematical model is developed and tested with plant data for the ammonia cold shot converter of Razi Petrochemical Complex. The model is based on a material and energy balance in a differential element of beds and is subjected to the assumptions of uniform distribution of temperature and composition through a general cross section and negligible mass and heat transfer in axial direction. Th...

Study and Simulation of Shot peening Effect on Fatigue Life of a Powder Forged Connecting rod

Shot peening applies a residual compressive stress field (RCSF) on the surface of parts. It also shifts “crack nucleation sites” to sub-surface locations. A nondestructive method of measuring the stresses, Sin2ψ was utilized here and the stress values introduced to Ansys software. For this purpose, uniform stress in all directions was applied on the con rod. Loading on the rod in Ansys had thre...

Side Effects of Shot Peening on Fatigue Crack Initiation Life

Shot peening beneficial effects on fatigue life of mechanical components are well known. However, there are some reports in the literature that indicate inappropriate shot peening parameters tend to reduce the fatigue life. It is therefore, the purpose of this study to find a logical quantitative justification for these observations. Using finite element method, a dynamic elastic-plastic simula...

Finite Element Simulation of Shot Peening and Stress Peen Forming

Shot peening is widely used to improve fatigue life of the metal component. It can also induce the distortion of thin component, which is called peen forming and is widely used for shaping aircraft wing skin. Shot peening surface coverage, intensity and saturation are important shot peening control parameters and have greatly influence on shot peening and peen forming results. Due to the insuff...

Shot peening simulation using discrete and finite element methods

Modeling shot peening process is very complex as it involves the interaction of metallic surfaces with a large number of shots of very small diameter. Conventionally such problems are solved using the finite element software (such as ABAQUS) to predict the stresses and strains. However, the number of shots involved and the number of elements required in a real-life components for a 100% coverag...
